Have you ever Pre-halloween Christmas shopped for yourself? I know, that sounds freaking crazy. I start making my list around September of each year (because if I didn’t, there would be five things on it, I’m indecisive and Chad needs direction) and we happened to be at the mall looking for boots (let’s just say Target was sold out and DSW needs more gray boots). Oh, but not our mall, the good mall that’s second closest to home – so we’re there, walking around and I SAW IT. I told Chad I was going to help him out with Christmas shopping and promptly whisked him in to get this:

so, I fully admit that it is weird to buy yourself christmas gifts. However, seeing as I couldn’t find three of the other things online this afternoon that I’d put on my list, it’s a good thing I grabbed them while they were still around… I wanted those babies! And they were cheap – Chad didn’t complain. I think he likes when I pick the stuff out, because he knows I want it. Also, he felt totally uncomfortable with the teenage girls milling about in forever21 and h&m… I probably never would have gotten it. I know, it all sounds like excuses, but it’s what’s worked for us for a while now.

And with that said… I am excited for christmas. I love new (even extremely cheap) jewelry!

Ok, I’ll admit. I haven’t been entirely faithful to my goal this week for reasons I can’t say on this blog. (Too traceable, you know.) I promise I’m getting back into it tomorrow, either by walking around Helen, GA or by walking around a creepy 200 year old graveyard. Both sound… about the same.

But… I’ve just been a bum lately! More like a fall junkie… I feel like it’s finally fall now. The windows are open, there’s a chill in the air at night, and our house stays cool enough without the AC on. Good times.

Thanks to not depositing paychecks for over a month, I’m up to a hefty sum in our bank account when i finally do, and while I’m stashing most of it away for bills or “just in case,” I just want a new, cool, fall outfit. The catch is that I’m forcing myself to only spend $70. So, here it is, starting with what I want most:

Target boots. LOVE! $29.99, Old Navy Tunic, $24.99, Target leggings, $5.74

Just a minute, folks. Can we talk about those Target boots for just a minute? Those are a freaking STEAL. And let’s not forget that Target has some amazing Frye boot knockoffs and some cute cuffed booties right now too… I might have a plethora of boots by Christmas that are actually affordable… imagine.

Also, to Old Navy, for the love of all that is good… stop pushing your bell sleeved sweater dress. It is NEVER cute. ever, ever, ever.

Ok, discussion over. This will be mine!

old navy enamel coated gold bangles, set of 3, $3.99

these bangles are the staple of j. crew fab wardrobes and old navy has a great “look-alike” set of three for the price of approximately 1/3rd of a bangle at even the j. crew outlet!

target merona hinge wallet, sale price varies from $8 to $9.99 instore/online

this hard case wallet is hot right now, and the merona version has this beautiful stitched design while still being the cheapest one i could find… even with rue 21′s rack of neon yellow case wallets for $10!

avenue manhattan sunglasses, on sale for $5.00 or two for $5.55

this hot pair of sunglasses is uber cheap and the perfect beach pair: big! it has a unique shape that lends it much better style than the other similar “rip-off” glasses, but a only a little different from Dior’s Jackie O style.

charlotte russe rose headband in white, $3.99

this headband is a lot like those cute flower headbands that are yet again, a j. crew staple. this solves the problem without you buying a $40 headband and yet you still look stylish and spring-like!

more to come soon, but these stuck out at me recently. Awesome how blatant rip-offs really benefit you. All this stuff was under $25 together!
