First a cold, then severe nosebleeds, then kidney stones… OMG! What a freaking week!
I haven’t done much by way of cooking, but I am assembling a colorful version of this beauty… and maybe a bigger scale one, too, if the cricut has a lot of flower cutouts.
I found this beauty on 100LayerCake, one of my favorite wedding blogs ever… and I am pretty sure with the number of flowers I have, there are enough to do a wreath the size of a freeway loop. Haha.
Holla if you know me, because I plan on organizing my craft stuff soon and there’s a lot of stuff left in there that I do not use (I’m talking about YOU, 10 pointless inkpads I have and NEVER use… or all the chipboard cutouts that are now pointless thanks to the cricut)… and it’s free for you if you live in the upstate of SC! (The catch: you must meet me in Clemson to get it.)
Also, Chad has been cooking dinner, and what a great cook he’s been! I’ve only helped a teensy bit. Last night, he made the best baked penne I’ve ever had! It had tons of mushrooms, green onions and spicy italian sausage and a crusty gooey cheese layer on top. And of course, the night before was tacos… I couldn’t taste those very well. And tonight we just had the most amazing glazed pork chops, blanched asparagus and mashed potatoes from scratch… SOOOO good! I don’t mean to brag, I am just so thankful to have a fiance to take such good care of me when I’m sick. I appreciate him tons!
Finally, I started my LAST SEMESTER AT CLEMSON! This makes me so happy… I am so ready to be out of Clemson. Remember when I talked about getting out early or even transferring to get a degree from elsewhere? I don’t even care anymore, I’m so ready to be done. That reminds me… I should definitely get on that ePortfolio requirement.
Okay, homework time. And I have a jar of marinated artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, goat cheese and a loaf of french bread… coming up tomorrow, bruschetta recipe!
usually, fourth of july goes the same way every year (well, it has for like the past 5-6 years for me and 4 for chad): we go to my uncle’s house, get in the pool for a couple of hours, eat burgers or hot dogs and get back in the pool. there’s always like 60 people there and it’s fun.
instead, this year we went to my uncle’s son’s wedding. it was beautiful! they got married in a church in Charlotte and then we went to the reception at the Dairy Barn in Fort Mill, SC. It’s this cool old barn in the middle of a bunch of fields and yes, complete with cows and a silo you can explore.
they both looked so great and happy!
but I have to say, that’s not really why I’m writing… I’m writing because the GPS took me through Cherokee county, RIGHT NEAR GAFFNEY! the serial killer murders really scare me, and… just being around there felt scary. definitely kept my eyes open for the car they say he’s driving… ick! I know it sounds SO paranoid but honestly, that was the worst part of my trip… aside from my relatives starting to talk about my wedding. uhh… i said the phrase “Yeah, I’ll keep that in mind” about a million times. haha.
Well, time to make some lunch–STARVING, didnt really eat breakfast. Also, it’s the first time it’s rained in about three weeks, so I’m going to see if its any cooler outside, too.
I have been sooooo busy lately, it’s not that i’ve forgotten to post–more like there are just TOO many things to do and not enough hours.
My mom had some surgery done today, I’m worried she’ll be in the hospital over christmas. She is supposed to be out tomorrow, but I’m not too sure that will happen.
Let’s see… I got my christmas presents from Chad tonight! They rock! I got the monogrammed sterling silver necklace, sleep pants (so soft!), two sweaters, a really soft scarf, the boots i’ve been wanting and a brown purse (finally!)… YAY! I hope he liked his christmas gifts. They were a little random, but… he’ll like tomorrow’s (BIRTHDAY!) gifts better: I’ll post now b/c its 9 mins away from his birthday–He’s getting a beer brewing kit, a book on the best beers around the world (The Beer Book) and beer tasting journals! I know it’s something he’ll enjoy. I just wish his birthday didn’t have to be Christmas Eve!
I’m a little upset with some situations at my house now, but I won’t go into detail until after christmas.
Just 2 more days!
